Brief Description
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025 for filling up various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. The selection process consists of a two-tier computer-based examination.

Eligibility Criteria (as on 01/01/2026)
Educational Qualification
- Essential Qualification (for all posts): A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Desirable for JSO: Bachelor's Degree with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
- Desirable for Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects.
Age Limit
- Age limits vary for different posts, generally ranging from 18-27 years, 20-30 years, or up to 32 years.
- Candidates must refer to the detailed notification for post-wise age limits.
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
Selection Process & Syllabus
Two-Tier Selection
- Tier-I (Qualifying): A computer-based objective test of 200 marks with four parts: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- Tier-II (Merit Deciding): Consists of three papers. Paper-I is compulsory for all posts and includes sections on Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and a Data Entry Speed Test. Paper-II (Statistics) is for JSO candidates and Paper-III (General Studies - Finance & Economics) is for AAO candidates. There is negative marking in all papers.
Indicative Syllabus
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Includes both verbal and non-verbal type questions on analogies, similarities, problem-solving, judgment, coding-decoding, etc.
- General Awareness: Questions designed to test knowledge of current events and matters of everyday observation, including topics related to India and its neighboring countries (History, Culture, Geography, Economy).
- Quantitative Aptitude: Covers number systems, fundamental arithmetical operations, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, and statistical charts.
- English Comprehension: Tests candidates' ability to understand correct English, their basic comprehension and writing ability.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online only at the new SSC website: **https://ssc.gov.in**.
- Candidates must complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website before filling the application.
- The application requires a live photograph of the candidate captured via webcam or mobile.
- Upload a scanned signature.

1. What is the selection process for the SSC CGL 2025 exam?

2. I have registered on the old SSC website. Do I need to register again?

4. Can I correct my application form after submission?
Yes, a 'Window for Application Form Correction' will be available from 09th July to 11th July 2025. You can make corrections by paying a correction charge.
5. Do I need to upload a pre-scanned photograph?
No, the new application process requires candidates to capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile camera while filling the form.
